Federal Communications Commission
The mission of this independent government agency is to encourage competition in all communications markets and to protect the public interest. In response to direction from the Congress, the FCC develops and implements policy concerning interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable.
ITA Showcase Northwest
The ITA Showcase membership is made up of vendors or suppliers to the telecommunications industry who belong to the Washington Independent Telephone Association or the Oregon Telecommunications Association. Each year they sponsor a trade show, including exhibits and seminars, to benefit the companies in these two associations and all others in the Northwest telecommunications industry.
National Telecommunications Cooperative Association
NTCA is a nonprofit trade association that represents independently owned and locally operated rural telephone companies.
National Exchange Carrier Association
Formed in 1983 by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a not-for-profit membership corporation, NECA plays an important role in administering the FCC's access charge plan -- a plan that helps endsure that telephone service remains available and affordable in all parts of the country. Directly and through its subsidiaries, NECA also administers a number of other significant federal & state programs, each designed to keep the Unites States telecommunications system the most widely used in the world. Washington Watch is a publication of the NECA Washington, DC office.
NARUC
the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, is a non-profit organization founded in 1889. Within its membership are the governmental agencies that are engaged in the regulation of utilities and carriers in the fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Specifically, NARUC's member agencies regulate the activities of telecommunications, energy, and water utilities.
Oregon Telecommunications Association
The Oregon Telecommunications Association believes a modular, market driven approach to developing the communications network infrastructure will provide Oregonians access to a competitive array of communications and information products and services, offered at a reasonable price. Wide deployment of this infrastructure will enhance the economic development of Oregon, creating new jobs and opportunities throughout the state.
Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies (OPASTCO)
OPASTCO is a national trade association representing the nation's small independent telephone companies.
Rocky Mountain Telecommunications Assoc
RMTA's purpose is to promote the general welfare and best interests of the telecommunications industry in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
State of Washington Enhanced 911 Office
The E 9-1-1 Unit coordinates and assists local governments' implementation of the E 9-1-1 systems which identify the address and phone number of every emergency call. The Unit also provides technical assistance on the acquisition and installation of equipment and linking both public and private telephone systems to the E 9-1-1 system.
State of Washington Labor & Industries
Wahington State laws and rules are administered by the Department of Labor and Industries. L&I is committed to developing and issuing rules that are necessary, fair, understandable and consistent. USTA is the leading broad-based association for the local exchange carrier industry in the United States.
Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission
The WUTC regulates any entity owning, operating or managing facilities used to provide telecommunications services for hire, sale or resale to the general public within the state of Washington. This includes companies providing local service and those providing long distance service between two points within the state.
Western Rural Telephone Association
WRTA represents rural telecommunication companies and cooperatives in the western United States and Pacific Rim territories who borrow from the Rural Utilities Service (RUS). WRTA supports its members commitment to providing the highest level of modern telecommunications services for their rural subscribers.
