In our industry we have the privilege of working with a number of state and federal government agencies, industry associations, and other organizations and institutions which have shaped the telecommunications industry of today. Federal Communications Commission - website

 

The mission of this independent government agency is to encourage competition in all communications markets and to protect the public interest. In response to direction from the Congress, the FCC develops and implements policy concerning intrastate & interstate communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable.

 
ITA Showcase Northwest - website
The ITA Showcase membership is made up of vendors or suppliers to the telecommunications industry who belong to the Washington Independent Telecommunications Association or the Oregon Telecommunications Association. Each year they sponsor a trade show, including exhibits and seminars, to benefit the member companies of these two associations.
 
National Telecommunications Cooperative Association - website
NTCA is a nonprofit trade association that represents independently owned and locally operated cooperative rural telephone companies.
 
National Exchange Carrier Association - website
Formed in 1983 by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a not-for-profit membership corporation, NECA plays an important role in administering the FCC's access charge plan -- a plan that helps ensure that telephone service remains available and affordable in all parts of the country. Directly and through its subsidiaries, NECA also administers a number of other significant federal & state programs, each designed to keep the United States telecommunications system the most widely used in the world. Washington Watch is a publication of the NECA Washington, DC office.
 
NARUC - website
The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, is a non-profit organization founded in 1889. Within its membership are the governmental agencies that are engaged in the regulation of utilities and carriers in the fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Specifically, NARUC's member agencies regulate the activities of telecommunications, energy, water and solid waste/recycling, and utilities.
 
Oregon Telecommunications Association - website
The Oregon Telecommunications Association believes a modular, market driven approach to developing the communications network infrastructure will provide Oregonians access to a competitive array of communications and information products and services, offered at a reasonable price. Wide deployment of this infrastructure will enhance the economic development of Oregon, creating new jobs and opportunities throughout the state.
 
Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies (OPASTCO) - website
OPASTCO is a national trade association representing the nation's small independent telephone companies.
 
State of Washington Enhanced 9-1-1 Office
The E911 Unit coordinates and assists local governments' implementation of the E911 systems which identify the address and phone number of every emergency call. The Unit also provides technical assistance on the acquisition and installation of equipment and linking both public and private telephone systems to the E911 system.
 
USTelecom - website
USTelecom is America's broadband association for the local exchange carrier industry in the United States.
 
Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission - website
The WUTC regulates any entity owning, operating or managing facilities used to provide telecommunications services for hire, sale or resale to the general public within the state of Washington. This includes companies providing local service and those providing long distance service between two points within the state.
 
Western Telecommunications Alliance - website

The Western Telecommunications Alliance (WTA) unites a diverse industry in the western states for the purpose of advocating the telecom interests of rural Americans before federal and state regulators and the United States Congress. This is necessary to ensure affordable and quality telecommunications services for all rural Americans.

WTA also provides a gathering place for member education and interchange of information with the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), a lending arm of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
