The Washington Independent Telephone Scholarship Association (WITSA) was formed in
1986 for the purpose of awarding higher education scholarships to the children of parents employed in the telecommunications industry in the state of Washington. As of today,
WITSA has awarded 287 scholarships for a total of $268,550.
Information is sent in January to the WITA membership announcing the scholarship awards. Awards are based on financial need, academic achievement, curricular and
extra-curricular activities. Before each annual meeting, the WITSA Board meets to review and select the winning applicants. This year, one recipient will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Increased awards of $1,000 will be given to six students and two scholarships of $500 will also be awarded. The Washington Independent Telecommunications Association is extremely
proud of all of this year’s recipients.
